Overview: In our study of Taming, we will consider how our identity is affected by the ways that people treat us and the gender roles we are expected to follow. In addition, we will look at the construction of the play with the use of a "frame." We will look at techniques of plotting and characterization, and we will consider how definitions of "genre" (in this case, comedy) can help us enjoy and see more in the play.
